🌟 About Laila Villa – Founder of Mis Mini Maravillas
Born and raised in Guadalajara, Mexico, I was blessed to grow up between two cultures — with an American mom and a Mexican dad — where both English and Spanish flowed naturally at home. From that foundation, I became fully bilingual at a young age and later certified as an interpreter and translator.
As a mamá of four bilingual daughters (and now an abuela!), I know firsthand the joys and challenges of raising children with two languages and two worlds. I did it while working full-time and supporting my husband through his studies — proof that it can be done, even when life feels full.
Through Mis Mini Maravillas, I bring together my professional background, my passion for bilingual education, and my deep love for family and culture — creating magical, hands-on Spanish learning experiences for kids ages 4–10 that spark joy, confidence, and connection.

As an American who fell in love with both the Spanish language and Mexican culture, I majored in Spanish and began teaching it to middle and high school students in the United States while my husband pursued his doctorate. When life brought us to Mexico, I transitioned to teaching English and dedicated myself to raising our three children to be fully bilingual.
My years in the classroom — combined with the day-to-day lessons of bilingual motherhood — taught me that language learning is most powerful when it’s lived, not forced. That philosophy shaped how I raised my children and continues to inspire the heart behind Mis Mini Maravillas today..

Raised in the United States, I was fortunate to grow up fully bilingual — thanks to my mamá, Laila, and the strong foundation she built for us. Though I majored in English and built a thriving career as a copywriter, bilingualism remains at the heart of everything I do.
Now, as a mamá myself, I’m continuing that legacy by raising my daughter, Luna, to embrace both languages and both cultures with pride.
